The night was warm..but the sky was clear and the stars were out in all their majesty. The bugs weren't too bad either. But how blessed the night we had. Thanks for all that came to the first candlelight service on Prayer Island. It is my hope that for you it was indeed a divine appointment where God met your need to touch a broken heart and give hope, even joy by gaining a new perspective on your loved ones death. This past year, the Prayer Island project was for me an anointed time where God gave me the passion for something from His own heart. That passion gave me the courage and strength that I didn't have on my own. Now, my son Christopher's life has a new legacy, with a focus on where he is, and not where he was, who is is now, and not who he saw himself to be when he took his own life. God wants us all to realize our true identity in relation to Himself, and from that, see that we have a position above our circumstances, in this life. I slept well tonight knowing in my heart that Chris was pleased, and God was pleased. I pray you were pleased as well.
Love, Dean

Author Dean EvansGrowing up at Dunklin, I was there before there was a lake Elijah or Prayer Island. Over the years, I've seen many transformations but none so drastic or exciting as the current one. I am so grateful to have been a part of this project. Just the experience was healing for me and I know will be a place of healing for many others and making it all worthwhile. Archives
